LGBTQ Services

At Gracie Square Hospital, we are dedicated to providing unbiased, culturally competent, and respectful care to the community we serve. A team of medical providers tailors your treatment plan and health education to fit your individual needs. Our goal is to provide a caring and sensitive environment for LGBTQ individuals.

LGBTQ individuals face many health complications, both mental and physical. Research suggests that LGBTQ individuals face higher rates of substance abuse, psychiatric disorders, eating disorders, and suicide. Additional health concerns include higher rates of obesity, certain types of cancer, higher smoking rates and heart disease, and STDs. Your treatment team works with you daily to address your mental and physical well-being.

We are proud that Gracie Square Hospital demonstrates a welcoming and inclusive environment for patients, their families, and our employees. We provide equal access to mental health care for all and an open visitor policy, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. We have developed LGBTQ-sensitive questions on our patient satisfaction surveys and medical forms that are sensitive to LGBTQ individuals and their families. Gracie Square’s care also extends to our employees.

LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader

We strive to provide care to individuals in need, and we are proud to be a designated safe space for LGBTQ individuals to heal. Our most recent initiative to increase awareness of Gracie Square’s alliance with the LGBTQ community was through our participation in the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) Survey. Our Community Advisory Council, comprised of frontline and management staff within the hospital, attained Leadership Status in early 2018. For more information about the HEI, visit their website,

Welcome to Gracie Square Hospital. We are your ally, and we’re ready to help.
